Is everyone quite all right now?

I got burned, but I'm fine. I believe that there have been a number of incidents in the City...perhaps soon, things will calm down. December always has been a lovely month.

I've suffered almost none of the curses this month. Except for the one where everyone was a child. I forgot what being sixteen was like.

I apologize for my silence. I've been thinking over matters, both of my own safety, the Church's safety, and the safety of those I care about. After consulting with my confessor, some new realizations have dawned on me about the safety of the City itself.

There are not enough words to begin to apologize.

I begin with a simple plea for forgiveness. What I did is inexcusable, and I don't believe that you need to forgive, but I beg for it nonetheless. Know that what I did, what was done by me shames me, and shames everything the Church stands for.

To the people I hurt, to those hurt by me or my actions, I can only offer you this.

Miss Zatanna, for those who were friends with her...she died...and she didn't come back. I killed her, and the City offers me no condolences. I make no excuses. What I did was a lamentable, horrible thing.

It is by the Grace of God and His will that I post this sad missive.

Witches are in our midst, and it is our duty to seek them out and reform them, so they may once again join the better part of society and see the ways of good, and not evil.

Here is a list of those who I believe to be witches. Any member of the congregation who encounters them can bring them in for judging by our court and God. Please, attempt to reason with them; this is for their soul! If they resist, use violence as necessary.

I hate deserts.

It's quite lovely, this festival. I remember back home, these things were rare during the war; but after, Jam would always bring me mooncakes and I would insist on tea. There are things that we miss, when we realize how far from home we really are.

I miss Sol. How is that even possible? It just seems odd that someone else is trying to get the sword back, seems odd that he's there and I'm here. Perhaps it's an odd form of habit.

I believe I'll be going to the festival later today. Megu, would you join me?

I'm concerned about Megu. I fear for her safety; I cannot allow this to continue. I must find out who possesses what is keeping her so bound and retrieve it for her. This kind of abuse cannot be tolerated!

I can only hope that she will rely on me if she finds out who it is, and honestly let me take care of the problem. I fear that if they have no qualms about hurting her, they will have no qualms about holding it further hostage, as well.

It's been a long week, but finally the church is up. If you helped with it, thank you very much. I'm hoping that services can begin on Sunday, but that will depend entirely on Father Nightroad.

Also, someone from my world arrived; Dr. Faust. If anyone needs recommendation for a job for him, please see me. I'll be at the church until late evening finishing up some last touches.

However, on a more serious note, I find myself quite lacking in funds. Does anyone care to hire me? While it's a tad unfortunate that now I have to pay for construction material (and equipment), it seems mildly appropriate. Is there anyone who has architecture as a field of study in their resume? I cannot pay much, but it is better than nothing at all.
